Ask Tibetan Scholars

Ask Tibet Scholars is an independent network of Tibetan studies scholars interested in opening a line of communication with members of the general public who have questions about Tibet. This is an open forum where questions regarding Tibetan culture, history, religion, geography, economics, and other related topics are welcome.

In light of the Beijing Olympics, athletes in particular are facing pressures to take a stance on Tibet. Concerned athletes might question whether they know enough about the controversy to make informed decisions. Ask Tibet Scholars provides athletes access to a wide-ranging and multi-vocal source of information on Tibet. Beyond immediate questions regarding the Olympics, Ask Tibet Scholars is an open and ongoing forum in which concerned individuals can discuss Tibetan topics with graduate students, teachers, writers and researchers whose work is focused on Tibet.

I'm looking for information on Buddhist athletes, especially those from India, and perhaps Tibet, and how Buddhist principles fit or, don't perhaps don't fit with the training programs and competetions athletes focus on.
